Yemisi Wada is a Lawyer by profession and has diversified into different areas of business in her time.
She qualified and was called to the Nigerian Bar in June 1990. She started her career working in the Law firm of Sofunde Ogundipe Osakwe and Belgore and after a few years together with two other partners set up her own firm Summit Chambers
She then went into the Oil and Gas trading business. She did this for several years and in 2007 she set up Beck Harding Consult Ltd a Facilities Management outfit.
Yemisi’s passion for sustainable development and service has her more inclined to projects that impact on people positively. This led her to founding ‘Haven for the Nigerian Child Foundation’ a Non-Governmental Organization set up to bring succor to children living on the streets in 2008
The Organization based in Lagos State has worked closely with the State Government in fighting the scourge that is street children. She is currently on the Lagos State Child Rights Implementation Committee. She set up ‘Asake Productions’ in 2011 to produce a feature length film ‘Oluranlowo mi’ to showcase to the world the stories of some children that had found themselves living on the streets to create empathy for this cause and bring more awareness to the scourge through the film. This got her into the love for producing and creativity as a tool for advocacy. Asake Productions went on to produce ‘Lasgidi Cops Special crimes unit’. A 13 episode crime series set in Lagos State. The show has gone on to win awards including ‘Best of Nollywood TV program of the year 2016.
In 2015 when Yemisi turned 50 she decided to impact on younger women the tools to sustain better relationships for themselves using her experience in getting out of a bad marriage and building a successful career for herself. She thus started her blog series ‘Nam’s Blog’
Yemisi is married to Dahiru Wada a Businessman and has 5 children and now a grand son.
